Finished in February

Cabled Bed SocksDuh, I'm so behind in posting FOs again. Let's count 'em, shall we?

Not all of these were started in February, most have been lingering since January. There's a pair of mittens, a pair of socks, a sweater coat and some other items in the works. Oh and I finally delivered my Autumn Cardigan, two sleeves and all. If you wanna see it go drop by Knit/Purl, you know you want to;)

Cabled Bed Socks

Pattern: made up as I knit
Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm
Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock in the very spooling kind of blue (dunno what the real name is), a tad over one skein
Size: womens size 6.5
Made for : MIL for her birthday

These were meant for her birthday but I only had one wrapped up so I had to get my act together and finish them ASAP. Now they're all ready to go home but they are still sitting in my living room. Hopefully they will be worn before it gets too warm;)

Pattern: Josephine Top by Deborah Newton
Needles: US 2 / 2.75 mm, US 3 / 3.25 mm
Yarn: Dale of Norway/Dalegarn Stork in purple, 4 skeins total
Size: 36"
Made for: yours truly of course
This was a fun no brainer knit - the next time I'd probably use something else besides Dale Stork because of its splitting issues. It was however already in my stash and since I'm in a stash busting mood at the moment it had to do. I was planning to use this yarn when I knit my A-line Skirt last spring but it turned out to be too cottony for embroidery. I still have a skein and half left and no idea what to use it for.

Double Duty Mittens

Pattern: Calorimetry by Kathryn Schoendorf
Needle: US 3 / 3.25 mm
Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock in Orchid, 1 skein
Size: child size
Made for: Princess Purple

February Double Duty Mittens

Pattern: my standard fingerless mitten pattern
Needle: US 1 / 2.25 mm
Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock in Orchid, 1 skein
Size: dunno, to fit a 10 year old?
Made for: Princess Purple

Two projects made after a trip to the zoo and some slightly frozen ears and fingers. We might not need them at all this spring but I'd rather keep 'em in the trunk, you know?;)

Cashmere Socks

Alpaca Dress Socks

Pattern: my standard toe up sock pattern
Needle: US 2 / 2.75 mm
Yarn: Joseph Galler Superfine Prime Alpaca Yarn 3-ply, 1 skein in black
Size: mens size 12
Made for: HB

The story of alpaca that was not meant to be. When I first bought this yarn it was supposed to be for a scarf for HB for Christmas. I didn't finish it on time and in a way it was a good thing since he preferred to have some alpaca socks instead. It takes some serious knitterly love to knit dress socks out of black alpaca in Oregon in the middle of the winter.
