Triangle FrostBerries ScarfLast summer Sarah gifted me a skein of the yummiest merino wool and silk blend I have seen so far. It's somewhat purple with some occasional white and red. For the last 6 months or so it lingered in my stash box waiting to be knitted into something that would show off the yarn.

About a week ago when I was going through my basket of hats, scarves and gloves it suddenly came to me - it really wanted to be a scarf. Not just any plain stockinette scarf, something somewhat fancy but neutral enough to be worn with different outfits.

I used my basic triangle shaped scarf pattern, added some lace to the middle and knit on until I ran out of yarn. It grew a lot during blocking but the finished size 44"x24" is exactly the size I was aiming for. Frostberries is also my last FO from 2007. I gotta tell ya, I'd love a cardigan out of this stuff!

Just in case you're wondering - the blue tape on those pictures is painters tape. I decided the first day of the year would be appropriate to get some painting done. The color on the wall is called Princess Purple:P

The scarf is great! I knew you'd make something beautiful out of it. Looking forward to seeing it in person one of these weekends - maybe Sunday? And wow, Princess Purple is aptly named. H's choice? ;)

Adam came to pick me up at the store the other night and reported that the dog had gotten into two skeins of purple yarn and "kind of destroyed" one. First I was afraid it was the cashmere, then I was sure it must be my Christmas present from you. :( Fortunately, there's so much purple yarn in the house right now that it turned out to be messy leftovers from my fingerless mitts and the dog hadn't caused any damage at all!
