Wondering Wanderer

Week Notes Vol 109

June 06, 2021

Something that has been on my mind since my last 1:1 with a team member leaving to take on his dream job - why do we normalize leaving a job being a negative experience? Yes, most of the time people leave bad managers but that should not be the norm. It is ok to leave because an opportunity presented itself to do something you are really interested in but won’t be possible your current role.

One of my oldest friends in the US is my first manager, someone who hired me when I had no clue about the interview dance in the states - and I have quit on him not once but twice. We still like each other. There have been many times we disagreed but I’ve never left a job because of him.

On the exciting but also slightly overwhelming front I have not one, or two but three positions available on my team!
