Wondering Wanderer

Week Notes Vol 138

December 26, 2021

I have reached the stage in my vacation mode where I am never entirely sure what day is it. Thursday or Friday? Does it really matter? It has been far too long since I have been in this clueless state about time and in a way it makes me slightly uncomfortable because my default mode is to have a firm grasp on where, when, how.

I’ve been enjoying some old favorite restaurants and discovering new ones. We randomly popped into Rado one day for lunch and it was amazing. I made a reservation for a dinner while our friends from Amsterdam are visiting.

It was nice to see my family in person for Christmas this year and get my annual ice skating in. I really don’t know why I keep on holding onto this tradition because I don’t actually like ice skating. Perhaps it’s something to learn to do well before I dismiss it entirely.

I’m also hoping that our Christmas eve morning bog hike becomes a new tradition - it was short enough to keep the non-hikers happy but snowy enough to keep me entertained. The drive to and from the bog was an adventure on it’s own;)
