Week Notes Vol 14
August 08, 2019
I’ve been going down a rabbit hole of reading about the history race and class in the United States for the past few months. Some of this has been motivated by my best friend’s struggles as a brown immigrant, subtle racism of my own family and trying to understand the implied difference between bad immigrants and good immigrants (like me).
To top it off I witnessed an encounter in a hotel this week that has left me quite shaken. No one got physically hurt this time but having a random stranger call someone a terrorist purely based on physical appearance and making threats is not something I could get used to nor do I ever want to be confortable with. Part of me wonders if this is how some of these mass shootings have started?
