The month of January in Pacific Northwest is hard on one’s soul and mind. The endless days of rain and grey skies drag on for what seems like months. Sometimes escaping to higher elevation helps and results in snow instead which is much easier to handle. There is also a hike near Hood River that usually tends to have somewhat decent weather.
