Week Notes Vol 75
October 10, 2020
After almost 5 years at AAA I gave my notice this week. It definitely has been a journey - from joining AAA Arizona team and managing the CMS platform and membership system for what at some point seemed half of the clubs to going through a merger and having to figure out how we fit into the new structure. It also marked the point where I gave up daily coding and shifted into a role that would enable others be more productive. After creating a data and analytics engineering team from scratch and running it for a year I would both recommend and caution against taking up such a task. It will be rewarding but you will be also wearing quite many hats for a while. Find people who can support you in your efforts, also find people who can give you useful feedback. Diversify your team but also keep some common thread among different people so that they get the sense of belonging.
