Week Notes Vol 78
November 01, 2020
Starting a new job in 2020 is a bizarre affair that goes down something like this. On your last day of your old job around 5pm your system access get revoked, you get logged out of Slack, you are removed from team’s Github and your forked repos go poof! You wave good-bye to your old team on a Zoom call and then turn off your company laptop and shove it somewhere.
When you start your new job you get your laptop mailed or pick it up while safely distancing. On your first day you get access to Slack; hopefully by end of day you are added to new team’s Github repos. And - life goes on. You meet your new co-workers virtually (likely on Zoom) and wonder (to yourself and sometimes out loud) when/if you will meet them IRL.
